Mandala's Story
Meet Mandala! This handsome boy made his way to Animal Friends through our Humane Investigations Department and through no fault of his own, Mandala spent the last several years waiting for his court case to clear. Since Mandala has been with Animal Friends for a few years, our staff and volunteers have learned a lot of sweet but goofy information out about him - more specifically how he loves having his face massaged to help him fall asleep but also how he gets the zoomies that replicate a tornado. He also is a fanastic squirrel watcher, toy de-stuffer, and meat snacks tasting expert. He spends his days as an office foster with one of our staff members, and is a fantastic supervisor and roommate!

Mandala was adopted and was doing incredibly well in his new home being a very lovable couch potato, when his adopter suddenly passed away causing him to come back to us. We would love to see Mandala find another home to call his own - as he has shown that he does incredibly well once he settles in.

Because Mandala had a very rough start to life, he is not able to live with any other pets. He is looking for an adult-only, single pet home - and his ideal adopters should not live in communal housing and understand he should not go to dog parks, to help him avoid other dogs and be his best self. Mandala is also currently undergoing muzzle training and is doing an incredible job with it!

Some of Mandala's best qualities are:
*He is not a fan of the cold, meaning he'd rather be snuggled up with you on a rainy or snowy day than playing outdoors (sounds like the perfect man to us!)
*He is very affectionate, and loves to spend playing with his toys with handlers that visit him in his office.
*He is a very avid collector of squirrel squeaky toys, and love to spend time showing them off to his friends.
*He is very food modivated, and while not the brighest pup on campus, is willing to give learning his best shot (so long as chicken is involved!)

Want to see more of Mandala's story? Animal Friends has teamed up with Fi Smart Dog Collar to provide GPS-enabled dog collars for Animal Friends' canine residents who are at an increased risk of becoming separated from their handler and not being safely reunited. These dogs may startle easily, have had a lack of human socialization or attempt to flee or hide in unfamiliar settings. Once outfitted with a Fi collar, Rosie's Rule dogs will keep their collar through adoption along with a one-year subscription to the Fi App - at no cost to their new family.

Mandala is one of our Extra Loved residents. Although all our resident animals get plenty of love, many of them come from backgrounds where they may need a little extra care, extra attention, and extra patience. To help this special resident find their adoptive home, a generous donor has sponsored their adoption donation, to help them feel extra loved!

Fill out an application; ThinkingOutsideTheCage.org
All of our animals are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped!

Animal Friends
562 Camp Horne Road
Pittsburgh, PA 15237
Kennel License #: 1042
