Mama Dolores's Story

Mama Dolores, lovingly known as Mama Dolo, has already proven how resilient and full of heart she is. She was found wandering along a highway in Alabama, heavily pregnant and doing her best to survive, before a kind person stepped in to help. She gave birth to five beautiful baby girls just before coming into rescue, and now that all of her puppies have found homes, it is finally her turn to be someone’s baby. We believe she is still quite young, likely around 2 to 3 years old, and ready to truly enjoy her own puppy years.

Mama Dolo is silly, playful, and bursting with personality. She adores belly rubs, loves being close to her people, and thrives on attention. She would likely prefer to be the only dog in the home so she can soak up all the love without competition. She has a bit of a prey drive, which simply means she finds small critters very interesting, so she will need a cat-free home. A securely fenced yard with fencing at least 6 feet tall is required, as she is athletic and can jump, or she should be kept on leash at all times outdoors. She will benefit from continued basic obedience and clear boundaries, especially when it comes to her enthusiastic greetings. Mama Dolo would flourish in a home that wants an affectionate, lively companion and is ready to let her finally live fully, safely, and completely adored.

Currently in a foster home in Chattanooga, TN, and available for transport to most locations within the continental United States.
Please note: We are unable to adopt to residents of Massachusetts at this time.

To apply, complete our official adoption application at yourlocalfurmama.com/adoption-application.

Petfinder inquiries are not considered applications. Once your application is received, a member of our Adoptions Team will contact you within 2–3 business days.

Your Local Fur Mama's Adoption Policy
We ask more questions than most rescues because it truly matters to us that every animal ends up in the right home. Our process starts with completing our full adoption application. After reviewing your application, our team will schedule a brief phone interview to get to know you better. All adopters must then submit a quick home walkthrough video for our team to review, along with vet records for any current pets. For dog adopters, the video should include outdoor space. Once everything is reviewed and approved, we will arrange a meet and greet in person for local adopters or by video for out-of-state adopters. Please note that completing the process does not guarantee an adoption, as our goal is always the safest, healthiest match for both the animal and the adopter. If the pet you applied for is not the right fit, we are happy to work with approved applicants to find a better match. For kittens, priority is given to adopters willing to adopt a pair, as they thrive with a buddy. Some kittens are listed as bonded pairs and must be adopted together.
