Mama's Story

A MOMENTOUS WIN 🗞️ For TWO YEARS “Mama” (aka “Brownie”) has been roaming the Eastdale area. Many of you have probably seen her playing in the water canal by Max Credit Union or running across Atlanta Highway near Krispy Kreme. Today is a good day because Mama has been CAUGHT! 🎉
Here’s her story: Before 2024, Mama was the love of her human dad’s life. He took her everywhere and loved her unconditionally; she was his favorite copilot. Unfortunately, Mama’s owner was rushed to the hospital one day, but he didn’t come home 🥺 She went to live with a family member in a new city (Montgomery) but, within a few days, she escaped the yard. We can’t say for sure, but we are convinced she was looking for her dad 😭
After that day, well, you know the rest. Mama couldn’t be caught. For TWO YEARS she wandered, and within two days of our new setup, she was contained. 🙏🏻
For the first time in YEARS, Mama is inside. She is fed, she is warm, and she is getting the veterinary care she so desperately needs. On to better days for Mama; we hope we made her dad, who is no doubt looking down from heaven, proud. We hope he knows she is safe

Mama has been in care for 6 weeks as of 2/22/26. She is gaining weight in prep for her heartworm treatment. She is social, silly, protective, and demands attention from her fosters by putting herself in between them and whatever they are looking at. She loves food, is respectful with the household cat, and is as sweet as can be.
