MEET MALCOLM! STATS: 1 year old, neutered, Black Lab Mix, 48lbs AFFECTION/ENERGY LEVEL: I am the life of the party! I have awesome young pup energy, but that doesn't mean I don't know how to chill out and be cuddly! Once I have a chance to get some zoomies out of my system, I am down to chomp on a chew toy and lay around. I love getting loved on and will push your hand with my snoot for some scratches. I'm the perfect mix of energetic and affectionate! WHAT I LOVE: I LOVE playing fetch and I will even do you the favor of bringing the ball back! I have done well with sharing my toys with my dog friends here at the shelter, and I am the York County Animal Services Tug-of-War reigning Champion! KIDS: I haven't been formally tested with kids at the shelter, but staff thinks I would do well with older children that are kind and respectful towards me and understand my energy level. OTHER DOGS: I'm dog-friendly and enjoy the company of other dogs! I go to playgroup here at the shelter! CATS: Unknown HIS MATCH: I would be perfect for a family that likes to play, run around outside, and cuddle HARD! I would do great with another tolerant dog, or on my own with just my people! I have a very versatile personality - if you want to play, I will be right there bringing the ball back. If you just want to hang out and sit around, I will be by your side! I do have some special medical needs, but they are expected to improve with age and as my immune system builds up! SPECIAL NOTE: I am an expert at finding lost toys in a big yard! Complete an online application and get pre-approved to adopt at https://cognitoforms.com/YorkCountyAnimalControl/PetAdoptionSurvey. Once you complete the app, a staff member will call you in 1-2 business days once approved to set up a time for you to meet the pet you are interested in. Every adoptable pet is Spayed or Neutered, implanted with a microchip, current on age appropriate vaccinations including a current 1-year Rabies Vaccination, and current on monthly Flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention for dogs. All pets are behaviorally and medically evaluated prior to being placed up for adoption. Adoptions are matched based on best placement and require no negative animal history.
