Maizy

Meet Maizy! Maizy is a female, approximately five year old Chihuahua who is a bit shy and she has the funniest crooked bottom teeth that make her so cute! Maizy was sadly dumped and therefore came to us as a stray so we don’t know a lot about her age or history, aside from the Vets opinion. When Maizy arrived she did not trust humans at all, and hated to be touched or picked up. We’ve worked with her quite a bit to help her regain that trust. When we would initially go to pick up Maizy, she would attempt to bite us. So we speak with her in a kind loving voice and then pick her up and this seems to have helped quite a bit. Also showing her a lot of stability and routine has helped. So we are hoping the next adopter will be in it with Maizy for the long haul because she deserves it. We think the ideal situation or home for Maizy would be without small children. Possibly an older person, even a senior citizen or a couple without kiddos. Maizy does get along well with all other animals including dogs, cats and livestock. She is house trained but needs to be let outside frequently as a reminder. She is also very crate trained and does fabulous.
