Maggie's Story

Maggie watched her owner die.
Her owner died at the hands of her abusive husband, who also abused Maggie.
Maggie tried to help her owner, she tried to offer love and safety and protection. But, in the end, it was no match for the horror that was to be.
A relative stepped in and provided a safe haven for Maggie. She was traumatized and it took lots of love and comfort (and meds) for her to realize that not everyone wanted to hurt her. Great progress was being made. But the reality was that Maggie and the relative's dog were not getting along.
And that's how Maggie found us. And we are so very glad that she did.
Maggie was very skeptical of all of us when she first arrived. But patience and love have softened her and given her the confidence to realize that most people in the world just want to love her and care for her.
The other bit of magic we have to offer Maggie is playgroups. Maggie has met some dogs she enjoys and that has given her something to look forward to as she waits for her new person/family to find her. And she now adores us and looks forward to playing with us and sitting with us.
Maggie is a gorgeous hound who is 4-years-old and is in great health. She looks forward to seeing all of us each day and we can't wait to see what she will do to make us smile - because it's always something!
Do you think you can offer Maggie the peace and serenity she deserves for the rest of her life? She will give you so, so much love in return. Maggie is available to meet every single day from 9am-12pm!
Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!

PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.
