Maggie's Story

Hi! I'm Maggie. I'm approximately 8 months old, 60 pounds and a Sharpei mix. I was abandoned in a rural area and left to starve, but some kind people got me to HART rescue where I gained weight and got fully vetted.

Nobody can figure out why someone would discard me since everyone says I'm such a sweet girl who loves other dogs and all people too. I do bark at strangers, but as soon as I meet someone up close, I'm their friend. If you're looking for a watch dog that doesn't bite, that's me.

My hobbies are watching TV, chasing squirrels, doing zoomies in the backyard, playing ball, barking at delivery people and I love car rides. I promise if you adopt me, you'll never have to go to the bathroom alone again!

I'm totally house trained too and I'm quiet all night in my cage.
I'd benefit most in a home that has another dog that loves to play or children that will keep me busy. Any active home would be great since I still have puppy energy even though I'm full grown. Foster mom says I'm going to be a wonderful addition to someone's home. If you think you're a fit for me, please put in an application.

All HART dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines, including bordatella and rabies. They are heartworm tested and on preventative for heartworm, fleas, and ticks. If you are interested in any of our pets, you must complete an online dog adoption application at www.rescueAhart.org . The application will put you in touch with this wonderful dog's foster family so you can schedule a meeting. Thanks!
