Maggie's Story
Can you say cute? Despite a life on the streets, multiple litters, having to scronge for every meal, a body hosting thousands of ticks throughout the years.... her tail never stops wagging. Meet Mama Maggie. We first saw Maggie in the streets with her baby. The two dogs were very curious, following us around as we were setting traps in attempt to catch feral cats. The local residents filled us in....a mama and the remaining baby...the dogs would approach but kept their distance. When the baby was curious enough to wander into a kennel for scraps of food, we knew she was safe. The next day, we went back to set a trap for her mama, and now the two are together. And although baby and Mama find comfort with each other, both will do just fine adopted separately (or together). Mama Maggie has had multiple litters, her past life was lived on the streets but today she is learning how to trust people and be a companion. She is quickly learning the comforts of being well cared for and loved. Mama Maggie is approximately three years old. She is constantly wagging her tail, approaching you oh so cautiously...tail always wagging....and allowing more and more pets. Mama will make such a grateful, loving companion. She is soooo sweet and wants so much to give love, to be loved. And with the right family... one that is patient and understanding, Mama Maggie will fill somone's heart to the brim. She is a special dog. We think she will be fine with kids, and does find with cats cats . We know she loves other dogs. She will need structure and a calm household. If you are interested in adopting Maggie ($200 adoption), please take a moment to fill out an application: https://povertyspets.org/application/ .
