Maggie's Story

Maggie has waited over 1,000 days for her forever home. Could you be the one shes been waiting for?

Introducing Maggie — a true diamond in the ruff whose story deserves the happiest ending. This gorgeous Terrier mix was discovered abandoned on the side of the road, but despite the difficult start she had in life, she has spent her time at the shelter surrounded by care, compassion, and people who believe she deserves the very best.

Born in September 2020, Maggie is a beautiful 53-pound girl with expressive eyes, a charming personality, and so much love to give. When she first came into our care, her gratitude was impossible to miss. She would happily bounce around, soak up attention, and bring joy to everyone she met.

Maggie is a fun-loving, energetic girl who absolutely adores people and enjoys spending time with those she trusts. She loves playtime, adventure, and having the opportunity to be active. A home that enjoys long walks, hiking, games of fetch, and keeping both her body and mind engaged would be the perfect fit for this special girl.

After more than 1,000 days in the shelter, kennel life has taken a toll on Maggie. While she still has so much love to offer, she has become more selective about the people she connects with. Maggie is looking for a very special adopter — someone experienced with dogs, comfortable with training and behavior, and willing to give her the patience, understanding, structure, and consistency she needs to truly shine.

Maggie may not be the right match for every home, but for the person who sees her potential and is willing to invest in her, she will be an incredibly rewarding companion. She is a loyal, loving dog waiting for someone to give her the chance she has been hoping for all this time.

Maggie would do best with an active family who can provide her with exercise, enrichment, and continued guidance. If there are other dogs in the home, a meet-and-greet is required to make sure everyone is comfortable and set up for success.

Maggie has spent far too long waiting. She deserves a family who will look beyond the time she has spent in the shelter and see the amazing dog she truly is. Could you be the person who finally gives Maggie the life shes been waiting for?

If you are interested in adopting Maggie, please email bahshelter@yahoo.com. Meet-and-greets can also be scheduled through email.

Maggie's forever family is out there — lets help her find them.
