Mae's Story

Mae is a gentle, sweet Lab mix who has had a very difficult start to life. She was found at a dump site in the woods, where she was repeatedly harassed by larger dogs. Because of this, Mae is understandably timid and cautious as she learns that the world can be safe again.

Mae is a very gentle soul and has never shown any signs of aggression. She feels most secure in her crate and often chooses it as her safe space, where she can relax and decompress. While she is still fearful of new situations, she is slowly gaining confidence with patience, routine, and kindness.

Although she is young, Mae has a low energy level, which we believe is largely due to her past experiences. She is not demanding and would do best in a calm, quiet home where she can move at her own pace and continue building confidence.

Mae is house trained and crate trained, and does well with other dogs. She has not yet been tested with cats or children.

Mae is looking for a loving, understanding home—ideally with adopters who will give her time, consistency, and reassurance. With patience and gentle guidance, Mae has so much love to give and is ready to blossom in the right forever home.
