A neighbor reported them for having a pitbull and when the police came to take her and euthanize her...the owners wouldn't let them in and then late that night drove her to someone who got to us. Maddy lived with other dogs large and small and cats. Her dad was a truck driver so she frequently went on long road trips with him....so she is always ready for a car ride and loves it and is a well mannered passenger. She loves toys and balls. She loves to cuddle and will snuggle in under the covers at night and keep your toes warm. Maddy is very affectionate and very well behaved. She loves everyone she meets and everyone loves her. Maddy loves to play with other dogs and curl up with them when it is nap time. Maddy was born Aug 5th 2017. Maddy loves to play tug with other dogs. Maddy is looking for a home that will love her and make her their BFF.

$150 adoption fee, spayed/neutered, microchipped, current vaccinations, and currently kennel trained.

ADOPTION APPLICATION: If you are interested in this pet you must fill out the Adoption Application…which you can find on this site or you can copy and paste this link … http://www.marlcares.org/adopt_app-dog.php
This does not obligate you in any way. It is up to the foster home, how far they are willing to drive. We rarely adopt long distance, but will consider each and every application.

MidSouth Animal Rescue League is an all breed, 501c3, non-profit organization that prefer to rescue senior dogs and special cases. WE LOVE ROTTWEILERS...With 20 years of experience with our beloved ROTTWEILER breed, and little help for this breed in our area, we try to focus on rescuing them and try not to ever have to turn any away that need us…especially the seniors that end up in shelters. Currently, we have several senior rottweilers in our hospice foster program. We always need more fosters so that we never have to say NO to them or other seniors.

We have also started a community relief effort specifically in the Red Banks, MS area not far from us, called The Dog House Project, where we go door to door providing dog houses to dogs on chains and other dogs and cats without proper shelter, including straw in cold temps, as well as food and other supplies as needed. We offer free spay/neuter services to those animals and continue to check on them all year. To date many have been spayed and neutered and some have been surrendered from their neglected lives on chains. We are making a difference and need your donations to continue this program. We always need igloo type dog houses.

MidSouth Animal Rescue League relies on the kindness, generosity, and financial support of people like you so that we can continue to rescue and care for dogs like this one. We are a group of dedicated volunteers who respond to animals in need in shelters, strays, and from individuals. We receive no federal or state funds and are supported solely by private donations.

Many of the animals we save are in need of special medical care or surgery to bring them back to health before they can be placed. Veterinary care, vaccinations, tests, x-rays, medications, spay and neutering, heartworm prevention, flea/tick prevention, worming, food, kennels, grooming, and other supplies are provided for each dog while in our care.

MidSouth Animal Rescue League's Adoption Policy
Thousands of pets die each year because irresponsible owners neglect them, let them breed or just decide they no longer want their pets. Owning a pet is a lifetime commitment. Our adoption program is designed to ensure the placement of our pets into permanent, responsible homes. Our adoption & screening process is very thorough. We make every effort possible to correctly match pet & human so as not to subject the pet to further rejection or abandonment. We are looking for homes that understand that adopting a pet is a 10 to 15 year commitment to love & care for this homeless pet’s needs. We do not allow meetings with any of our dogs until we have your application. Potential adopters must complete an application & phone interview with the foster, & a home visit. Fenced in yards are almost always required, there are exceptions, but it is rare. Applications are an important aid in helping both the adoptor & rescue group make the best decision in knowing what pet will fit the adoptor’s expectations & lifestyle. The application is as much a great service & tool for the adoptor as it is for us, so please consider this as you answer the questions. Our adoption fee is $150.00 to $250 for dogs and puppies unless noted otherwise. All pets have had shots, spay/neuter surgery, heartworm testing & are current on heartworm prevention, & are microchipped. If the dog is too young for surgery it will be scheduled by us at our vet when age appropriate & specified in the adoption contract. All dogs are kept in foster homes, inside, & are kennel trained. Adopting a new family member should involve a well-thought out & deliberate process. This is not an impulse purchase. Please understand that we do not want these pets to be homeless again. We try to complete the process as quickly as possible & will appreciate & consider each application. **NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE** It is almost impossible to return everyone's calls & emails. Voicemail fills up several times a day & the emails are endless. We are so busy rescuing & caring for pets in our care & want to give our time to those pets & to adoptors who have taken the time to complete the application. Due to the overwhelming inquiries we receive for help, we do miss some emails & we are very sorry if we miss responding to you & assure you it is an oversight & not intentional. Some days we get 50 emails just asking us if a dog is available, if it is housebroken & how much it is to adopt. This is very frustrating for us because we maintain a current website & all pertinent info for adoption & the pet is right there. Inquiries asking if a dog is available, how much the fee is, etc, consumes alot of our time that could be used in responding to local applicants. Most questions you have can be answered by reading our site. We do sincerely apologize for not being able to get to everyone & are sorry for any inconvenience we cause you. We know how excited & anxious you are to adopt your new pet. We know it is hard to understand why the adoption process is so lengthy & may seem cumbersome to you. We know it is hard to understand why it can take awhile to get your call returned or your application processed immediately & we apologize for the inconvenience. We ask that you be patient & understand that we are volunteers receiving more requests, calls, applications, & emails than we can possibly return in a day. We ask that you remember that we are gone most of the day rescuing pets from shelters, taking them to the vet, doing home visits, processing applications, checking references & the list goes on. One sick rescue can throw us off schedule. Please remember that we have families & pets that sometimes get sick & need our time as well. We receive many applicants for the same dog. In this case, we try to make the best possible match based on the info we have gotten during the application process. We PREFER to adopt in the Mid-South AREA, usually no more than 1-2 hours away in driving distance. We rarely adopt long distance, but will consider each & every application. **WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ANY ADOPTION. Our first concern is the happiness & welfare of the pet.
