Maddux's Story

Hi there! My name is Maddux, and I'm a six-year-old Lab/Terrier mix with a sweet spirit and a heart full of love. I weigh about 52 pounds, and I feel so lucky to have made my way from Ellos Son La Razon in Mexico now I'm ready to find my forever family! I'm in great health, already spayed, and just an all-around happy pup. People say I have the most infectious smile, and I do love giving (and getting!) plenty of kisses and cuddles. I'm super affectionate and happiest when I'm by your side or soaking up the sunshine on a nice day. When it comes to manners, I've got the leash thing down and really enjoy my walks and sniffing adventures. I'm also crate-trained and sleep soundly through the night or while you're away. I don't get anxious when left alone, which makes things pretty easy! I'm still working on my potty training I've had a few little accidents here and there, but I'm learning fast and doing better every day. I'd fit best in a mellow, loving home whether that's just with you or with another friendly dog. I'm great with kids, too! As long as I'm getting love and attention, I'll return it tenfold. If you're looking for a loyal, gentle companion to share life's cozy moments with, I just might be your girl. I can't wait to meet you! The Animal Pad's Adoption Policy

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane. Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational. All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times. All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise. Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000. Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc. Adoption Application: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
