Maddox's Story

Meet Maddox!

Maddox is a 3-year-old boy weighing in at just under 50 pounds, making him that perfect medium size that's not too big and not too small. As for his breed mix? Your guess is as good as ours! We've spent plenty of time trying to figure it out, but Maddox seems content keeping that mystery to himself.

This sweet boy came to us after his owner suffered a stroke and was no longer able to care for her dogs. She clearly loved them very much, but with seven dogs sharing one home, life wasn't always easy. While the dogs generally got along, the crowded conditions likely led to a few disagreements over the years, which explains some of the scars that give Maddox's face a weathered look and tell a story of a life that wasn't always simple.

With everything he's experienced and all the changes he's faced recently, Maddox is understandably a little timid right now. In fact, he's the shyest of the group. But underneath that cautious exterior is a gentle, kind-hearted dog who simply needs a little time to feel safe again.

We truly believe that once Maddox settles into a loving home and learns that the world isn't so scary, he's going to blossom into an incredible companion. He has done well with other dogs, and we're still learning how he feels about cats.

Maddox is easy to walk, has a calm and gentle nature, and asks for very little beyond patience, kindness, and a chance to decompress. He may not be the dog who rushes up to greet you on day one, but he just might be the dog who forms the deepest bond once he learns to trust.

The best things in life are worth waiting for, and Maddox is no exception. If you have a little patience and a lot of love, this sweet boy is ready for his fresh start. Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 48lbs Age: 3yrs 0mths 2wks Animal has been Neutered
