Meet Maddie

UPDATE: When Maddie arrived, she would lay down on the ground and wouldn't walk on a leash (which also makes bathroom training difficult). Switching to a harness has definitely helped --Maddie is blossoming while here. We are now able to walk around the block and the goal is a small, quiet hike. In a short time, she has learned "sit," "down," and we are working on "stay," and "heel". She is very smart and will work for treats. Ninety percent of the time she likes to stay by my side, the other 10 percent is trying to figure out how to get to the cats' food! This litter of seven pups was saved at the last minute from a shelter in there south where they were out of time. They had skin issues that have been treated and they are cleared and ready to come to Maine. They are good with other dogs and even though a bit shy, warm up quickly to people. Maddie appears to be ok with cats.
