MADDIE's Story
OTHER PETS: Maddie has gotten along well with both bigger and similarly-sized dogs while here at TJO! While a bit awkward, she quickly relaxes and attempts to initiate play after a few greeting sniffs. [Likely (Must Meet First)] OWNER EXPERIENCE: Maddie is an all-around happy dog that loves people just as much as she loves her toys. She would likely make a good first dog for anyone looking to be dedicated to caring for a new family. Experience with, or willing to learn positive reinforcement. [First Dog] KIDS: Maddie is tolerant of handling and has not shown any signs of resource guarding while at TJO. She could potentially be a good match for a family with kids, but as always interactions between children and dogs should be actively monitored to ensure that both parties remain comfortable and safe. [Likely (Must Meet First)] ACTIVITY LEVEL: Maddie is an easy-going, playful dog that loves spending time with her people--whether that means hanging out on the couch, a walk around the neighborhood, or playtime out in the yard. She absolutely loves toys, though her favorites seem to be of the squeaky variety! A blend of regular exercise and plenty of mental enrichment such as food puzzles and games will help meet her needs. [Good Walking Buddy] VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Maddie not only learn her basic cues & skills, but also help her to bond with her new owner while building confidence. [Minimal] GROOMING: Routine brushing will help to minimize shedding in the home. [Minimal]
