Macy's Story

Macy is a 7-month-old anatolian shepherd mix, currently only 26 lbs, spayed and up-to-date on all vaccines. She was found in a culvert with her brother, so is learning to trust. She has a big heart hidden behind a whole lot of fear, but she's come a long way since joining her foster home and just needs the right person to help her continue to grow.
She is fully potty trained and has been learning the ropes by watching our resident dog — mimicking his calm behavior and slowly building her confidence. She is incredibly observant of her foster family and loves to take everything in from a safe distance. She is still learning to trust and prefers to keep some space for now — but we can already see the curiosity and sweetness underneath.
Macy will need:
🏡 A calm, patient home
🐕 A confident resident dog (non-negotiable!)
🚫 No cats
🔒 A securely fenced yard — she is a flight risk when startled
👶 No young children — Macy has had no exposure to children and her reaction is unknown
She is still very fearful of everyday things like cars, bikes, and outdoor noises, and leash work is ongoing. But with the right adopter who understands fearful dogs and is willing to let her set the pace, Macy will absolutely thrive.
Not the right dog for a first-time owner or a busy household — but for the right person, she will be incredibly rewarding. 🐾
If you are interested in meeting Macy, please fill out our application. http://bit.ly/FARRapplication
