Mack's Story

Meet Mack!

Mack is a Pittie mix estimated to be around 3–4 years old who found his way to us as a stray in 2023. When Mack first arrived, he was an under-socialized pup, but he has made LOTS of progress during his time with us. He continues to learn every day and is eager to please his people. Mack’s social skills are strongest with the people he knows and loves, and he is learning that new people can be pretty great too. He can be nervous when meeting strangers at first, but with a helpful handful of treats, he warms up and builds trust. Mack may benefit from multiple meet and greets with his future family to help him feel comfortable, and once he does, he is as loyal as they come. This boy is a total “velcro dog” and loves to be as close to his people as possible - if he could climb into your skin, he probably would! He adores affection and is known for giving hugs and kisses to his human friends.

Mack is a big burst of energy and loves toys of all kinds. He’s fun, active, and would make a great hiking or adventure companion. He loves exploring outside and sniffing out new smells on walks. His leash manners are a work in progress, but he has come a long way and continues to improve with ongoing training. Once he leaves the high stress kennel environment, we think his manners will only improve! Mack knows the “sit” command, is learning to “give paw,” and is very treat-motivated, making him a great candidate for continued positive reinforcement training. He would do best with teens aged 14 and older. Mack hasn’t had many opportunities to spend time with other dogs, so his dog-to-dog compatibility is still being explored. We’d be happy to do a meet and greet to see if he may be a good match with another dog. No feline friends for Mack, please!

If you are interested in adopting Mack, please fill out the adoption application below.

https://lebanonhumane.org/dog-adoption-application/

PA Kennel License 3603-Myerstown
