Hello there! My name is Macie. I am an adorable three-year-old terrier mix. I came to Wayside when I was found tied up and abandoned. I was pretty scared when I was found and brought to Wayside Waifs. I didn't realize back then how much love and care I would receive here! Because I was so nervous, I was enrolled in a special program here called Confidence College. This is a great program that helps fearful dogs gain more confidence. I have learned so much in this program!

I love to learn new things. I now know how to sit, lay down, shake hands, go to my place, and kennel up on cue. I don't mind spending time in my crate here at the shelter so the folks here think I would be pretty easy to fully crate train. I am very treat motivated and that helps me learn. Please teach me new things by using positive training methods and lots of yummy treats!

I enjoy going on walks but I can still be easily startled by people and objects on my walks. I would love for you to reassure me and keep me feeling safe and confident. I would love to take walks in quiet, predictable areas until I feel more comfortable.

Life isn't all training, playing, and walking - I also love to cuddle! As long as I get plenty of exercise and enrichment I am happy to hang out on the couch with you too.

ADOPTION INFORMATION: All Wayside Waifs pets are spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations prior to adoption. Please note that in order to make the best match possible, potential adopters must come to the Wayside Waifs in person to meet with an adoption counselor and complete the adoption process. All members of the household (including other pets, if possible) should be present to ensure the chosen pet is compatible with everyone. We do not place holds or do adoptions over the phone and we do not ship pets.
