Macadamia is one of the 8 “nut” puppies. They arrived from Tennessee with their mom Priscilla, AKA Peanut when they were just a few days old. She was abandoned when she was VERY pregnant and gave birth at the shelter. Their mom took wonderful care of them and now they are ready to find their own forever families.

Macadamia is a lazy little girl who would love nothing more than to snuggle with you.

These puppies are typical hounds, they love to explore their surroundings using their noses to check everything out. They are incredibly friendly and social with all humans, other dogs and more! They are intelligent and eager to learn. They are learning to use potty pads when they are inside and are champs at pottying outside when taken out.

They are currently in a loving foster home that has made sure to interact with and stimulate them. They have been raised around other dogs, cats, children, and even chickens! They are growing to be wonderful, social, canine companions. They are friendly and happy go lucky. With continued socialization and training, they will quickly learn commands such as sit, stay, and come.

All of them love to play with toys and are counting on their new families to provide them with plenty of chew toys to keep them busy during their teething phase.

Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 14 days of a veterinarian deeming the dog or puppy is ready to be altered. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies.

Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping.

We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process.
