Mac's Story

Note from his foster mom:

This is Mac!
He is a male, approx 75 pounds, 10 year old Labradoodle. He is house trained, up to date on his shots and neutered. He is great with other dogs and cats. I have an elder dog myself and 3 cats. He gets along with all of them. He does like kids, bur I'd suggest older kids. He's never been aggressive, but he does get really excited when he first meets someone, so it can get a little overwhelming for smaller children.
He does need to be bathed once a week because he is prone to getting dry and flaky skin on his back. He also needs his ears cleaned to prevent him from getting ear infections. He currently has an ear infection but since he has been in my care, I've been cleaning his ears while waiting for the culture to come back to see what kind of antibiotics he needs.
He was crate trained when he was a puppy, but he has not been in the crate in years. He is such a chill dog. He just sleeps all day on my couch. He does love to be in my backyard. He has not had a backyard in his previous home.
He does bark during our walks at other dogs. He also barks when the doorbell rings. I don't think he really has any dislikes. He does get a little grumpy if another dog sneaks up on him when he's sleeping. He doesn't get aggressive. He just barks at them. Like a "leave me alone" bark. As for his diet, I would stay away from anything poultry. We're thinking he might be allergic to it.
