Mabel's Story

Our sweet girl Mabel. Mabel is the best gal you would ever meet. Her gentle old lady spirit makes you fall head over heels for her. Mabel is about 13 years old and weighs 10lbs. Unfortunately Mabel came to us in horrendous condition after being found as a stray with Charlotte. She was emaciated, covered in sores, could barely lift her head, and could barely walk. Mabel has thankfully pulled through and now would like to live her remaining years curled up in a comfy bed. Mabel is too elderly for most medical procedures so we have decided that she will be on hospice care for her remaining time. Due to this Mabel has a significantly reduced adoption fee. Barking Wishes Senior Pet Rescue and Sanctuary's Adoption Policy

Applications are reviewed by a director and foster, vet checks are done, home check or virtual home check done, if home is a rental we contact landlords, in depth telephone interview is conducted and a meet and greet with pet is set up. If the adopter advances through all stages of the application process, a director will approve the application and the animal will be transferred to the new adoptive family. The adopter is given a 72 hour window to allow them to return the pet for any reason whatsoever in exchange for a full refund or more suitable pet. Our contract states that after that 72 hour window, we will always take our dogs back into the rescue for any reason and they aren’t to be taken to a shelter or re-homed
