Mabel's Story

Introducing Mabel

This beautiful dog came to us from Northern Ontario. She was surrendered to a shelter because her owner was moving and not able to take her along.

Mabel is approximately 1 year old (DOB: O4/01/2025) and weighs 47 pounds. She is gorgeous black lab mix with the most beautiful eyes and soft ears.
Mabel has settled in nicely to her foster home. She is a very active and happy puppy who loves to play and engage with her foster family. She is a typical pup full of endless energy and curiosity.

Mabel's adopters must be prepared to continue with her training and keep her busy with lots of daily exercise and socialization. She is a very smart dog and responds well to praise and treats. She is okay travelling in the car. She sleeps in her dog bed at night. Mabel shares her foster home with two other small dogs. She loves to play and would do well with another friendly, young dog. A meet and greet would be necessary. We do not know how she is with cats.

Mabel has been left alone in her foster home for a few hours during the day. She has not been crated and was fine. She would not do well being left alone for long hours every day. Mabel is housetrained and has not had any accidents in her foster home but they let her out often during the day.

Mabel really enjoys playing outdoors and going for walks. An adopter with a house and fully fenced yard is recommended so she can have outdoor time in between her walks. She will require a lot of exercise and outdoor playtime to help keep her happy and healthy.

Mabel is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. Her blood work was good and she is negative for heart worm and tick borne diseases. She is currently recovering from her spay. She also requires eye drops at this time for a scratch on her cornea. She will be going for a follow up visit and her booster vaccine later this month.

***This bio may change as we learn more about Mabel.

Please see our website (info@adoptadogsavealife.com) for information about our rescue and adoptions. Our adoption process includes an online application, a telephone interview, a home visit (virtual or in person), reference checks and a meeting with the dog.

An adoption fee of $500.00 applies.

Mabel is in a foster home in Toronto, Ontario.
