Mabel's Story

Blue Heeler, femaleMabel is a 2 year old, female Blue Heeler from the streets of Victorville. There was an enclave of dog in a junk yard. About 7 juveniles, lactating female and 11 nursing puppies. They had all been saved, when Mabel also showed up. All the pups were sent off to rescue in southern California with the nursing mom that had already been trapped, but now it looks like some of those puppies belong to Mabel.
Mabel is going to be ok. Hey pups are going to be ok. We're moving forward. Mabel is just like all the moms we get. Sweet as candy. She appears to be a purebred blue heeler. Her tail was docked as a puppy. She’s likely been on the streets for a while, but she's just the nicest, most unassuming girl.
Mabel apparently never learned what a leash was. And we're working on that now. She's just a champ with other dogs. She let everyone give her the once over. And then she politely sniffed them one by one.
Mabel will be spayed as soon as her milk dries up. Then available for adoption. And we'd consider a foster to adopt situation. Let her get into her home and wait for her spay day.
More photos and updates: https://www.facebook.com/www.cchdrescue.org/ search in posts and photo albums.
Please complete an application at: http://bit.ly/CCHDR_App
Note: No transport or blind adoptions. Prospective adopters must have a plan in place to meet and pick up their dog from the foster location.
