Lyra's Story
Lyra is the puppy that came to us back in January after being found in a box with her siblings who unfortunately didn’t make it 😢 she has been a true fighter since the beginning and she’s now ready to move onto her next chapter in life!

Lyra is a very sweet puppy with a heart just as big as her personality. She was born with spina bifida, which means she is unable to use her back legs and is incontinent, but that doesn’t stop her one bit from living her best life. We are currently working on getting her into a wheelchair so she can be an even bigger menace 🤣

She adores playing, especially with her favorite stuffed animals, and she loves being around other animals. She will do best in a home with someone who understands her unique needs and is willing to be patient, consistent, and compassionate in her care. She requires ongoing rehabilitation and supportive care to help maintain her strength, mobility, and overall quality of life, and there may be increased financial responsibility over time related to her condition and continued therapy needs.

Lyra does best on a consistent daily routine that supports her overall health and mobility. Her care includes regular diaper changes, bathing as needed, and extensive rehabilitation therapy to get those legs moving. While her care is more involved than a typical puppy and requires time, patience, and hands-on commitment, her needs could be manageable once a routine is established. She thrives with structure and in a home dedicated to continuing her care.

Lyra’s main needs are:
- a home with extensive experience and knowledge with medical pups
- a home where her main caregiver is someone home often
- another doggie friend to bond and play with

If you'd like to meet Lyra, please text 9547897850.
