Meet Lynda Carter!
Lynda is about a year old and a beautiful German shepherd mix. She's 36lb right now, and although she's fully grown, she has a bit of weight to gain from missing so many meals. Lynda was dumped on the finders property and has unfortunately moved from place to place until Take Paws took her in.
She's the most gentle and sweet girl you'd ever meet. She gets along with everyone -even cats!! She's a smart girl and slowly catching on to living with humans.
She's an active girl and would definitely do better with an owner that loves walks and to play a lot. However, she is so ready for lots of snuggles once she's tired out!!
She is low heart worm positive and will begin my treatment soon which is totally covered by Take Paws.

This dog is ready for her forever home!

An inquiry, question, or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information.

2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals:
Puppies under 12 months - $350
Dogs over 12 months - $250


*Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!
