Luna (Oakdale)'s Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Luna is 4 year old, red and white, female basset who weighs 41 lbs. She is super cute! She loves all humans and wants nothing more than to curl up and cuddle with her people. She is usually very calm, mellow, and gentle although her barking can come out at times. She walks well on a leash (although does like to follow her nose- like all bassets) and she does well in the car, both in a crate and out. Her foster mom has had her in a large pen at home at times and she has done well with that too. She is usually very agreeable and listens well. She has no health issues, is housetrained and knows how to use a dog door. .Luna can have trouble when first meeting new dogs. She may growl and lash out, especially when she is feeling protective over human attention or comfy bed space. But she has proven adaptable and will get used to other dogs and even play a little with them. She has been fostered in a dogsitting home with dogs that come and go often. As long as you are careful and patient when introducing her to other dogs, she does fine. She is not good with cats.Luna, at heart, is a people dog and is looking for a close companion who will spend a lot of time with her and give her lots of pets and cuddles.Luna and her daughter, Princess, came in to GGBR together and it may be in their best interest to be adopted together.
