Luna's Story

Luna is a sweet, friendly girl with a constantly wagging tail and a smile that will brighten your day. She loves meeting new people and does well with both children and strangers, making her a wonderful companion for a family. Luna was originally brought to the shelter as a stray, but when her owner was located, they made the difficult decision to surrender her. She is not housebroken and does not get along with cats, so she will need a home without feline companions. Luna also has a tendency to escape, so a secure, fenced yard is a must to keep her safe. With time, patience, and consistent training, Luna has all the potential to become a loyal, loving best friend for the right family. She has DHPP and bordetella vaccines, she's microchipped, and spayed.

Erath County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
When someone comes in wanting to adopt, we first ask what they are looking for in a new pet. If they can describe what they are looking for, we will make some suggestions based on that criteria, and then let them go through the shelter looking at the adoptable animals. There are kennel cards on each kennel with information specific to that animal. Once they find an animal they are interested in we do a meet and greet with the person interested in adopting. If they have other pets, we recommend a meet and greet with current pets as well. Whatever animal the potential adopter chooses, we highly suggest a 5 day foster period to make sure the animal and the adopter are a good fit.
