Luna's Story

My Name is Luna & I’m Looking for Love! Love from a committed person, couple or family, that is! My prior humans failed me. They bred me for puppies they could sell and then dumped me in a park to fend for myself. I’m only three years old, and that’s all I’ve known except for the incredibly kind people who brought me to their home from the park where I was abandoned. They adore me (especially their 10-year-old daughter) and would love to keep me, but their other two dogs are too high strung and aggressive towards me for that to work.
I love this family and am good with their dogs. I never react when they bark aggressively at me, but they just won’t get over their aggressive behavior and accept me. It’s very sad, but my reality, so that’s why I’m here.
Could you be my perfect match? I have so much love and affection to give. I’ll be your best doggie friend in the whole wide world. I weigh 72 pounds and am an easy-to-handle large dog who wants to please. I walk gently on leash (no desire to pull) and am mellow by nature. I just want to be close to you and spend time together. The humans aren’t sure about my breed but believe I’m a Pittie mix.
I am housetrained, passed a vet exam, am fully vaccinated and spayed.
I want nothing more than to find my forever person/family as soon as possible.
We have so many adventures to experience together and affection to share at home. Let’s get started! I’m currently in Fresno, and my caretakers are willing to drive me to you anywhere in California. Please contact Ben ASAP at 559-283-4296 or benjaminmorris@gmail.com.

California Pit Bull Rescue's Adoption Policy
If you are interested in adopting a dog through California Pit bull Rescue (CPR) we have a few standard steps you will need to take: We ask that you fill out our Adoption Questionnaire, to help determine what type of dog(s) would best suit you. We will arrange for a "meet and greet" with your dog(s) of choice -- everyone, human or not, who will be living with the dog or interacting with him/her regularly is required to meet in person. Home checks are mandatory -- this is when we will get a first glimpse of how your prospective family member fits in and adjusts in your home. If all goes well, we start your trial adoption period with our adoption contract and donation (which includes microchipping, vaccination and spay/neuter) of $300. Depending on the situation, you will be required to check in at intervals to provide updates on the dog's transition. In most cases we will conduct a minimum of one follow-up visit to check on the dog's condition and welfare post adoption. You will also be required to provide proof of training with an approved trainer within one month of placement, before the adoption can be finalized. We also strongly recommend that you continue lifelong training with your dog. All CPR dogs have our full support post-adoption for questions, advice and feedback. Should you ever find yourself in the position of having to give up your dog, we require that you contact us first. We also strongly urge you to contact us before issues arise, so we can provide the resources you need to successfully keep your dog with you for life.
