LUNA's Story

Meet Luna - A Sweet Girl Ready for Her Fresh Start ?? Introducing Luna! This beautiful 1.5-year-old lab mix is looking for a special home where she can thrive and show off all the wonderful qualities we’ve been discovering. Luna came to us after an incident with a small child in her previous home that resulted in a minor bite that broke the skin. Unfortunately, no one witnessed what happened, so we don’t know the circumstances that led to the situation. The owner felt it was in their child's and Luna’s best interest to surrender her to us to prevent it from happening again. Here’s the great news: Luna has been impressing us every single day! Our staff and volunteers have spent quality time with her, and here’s what we’ve discovered: ? Friendly and Social - Luna is a sweet, people-loving girl who enjoys attention and affection ? Well-Mannered - She appears to be housebroken and walks beautifully on a leash (major bonus points!) ? Dog-Friendly - Luna previously lived with another dog and passed her dog test here at the shelter. Her owner said she was selective of her canine friends outside of the home, so she will need to have a meet and greet with any potential doggy housemates ?? Young & Full of Life - At just 1.5 years old, she's got that perfect balance of puppy enthusiasm and young adult manners We're looking for an adult-only home where Luna can be herself without the unpredictability that comes with little ones. She needs: ? A child-free environment where she can relax and thrive ? Owners who understand that dogs have boundaries and will respect hers ? An active lifestyle—this lab mix has energy to burn! ? Patience as she settles into her new life (we're still learning about her, too!) ? Possibly a canine companion? Look, we could sugarcoat things, but that wouldn't be fair to Luna OR to you. The truth is, many dogs don't do well with young children—and that's OKAY. It doesn't make them bad dogs; it makes them dogs with preferences, just like people. Luna is friendly, well-mannered, and ready to bond with the right family. She just needs a home that matches her needs. Could that be yours? Come meet Luna at the shelter ( ??430 Bristol Dr., Statesville, NC). Spend time with her. Take her for a walk. See her personality shine. We think you'll be just as impressed as we are. Luna's fee is WAIVED!
