Luna's Story
This unbelievably sweet, kind, and loving girl has not received a single adoption inquiry yet. Luna lights up the moment she senses people nearby—her whole bum wiggles with anticipation, hoping you’ll take her outside. She loves everyone, enjoys playing, and adores her bed!

Luna has not had an easy journey. When Animal Control found her, she was tied up outside after her family accused her of trying to bite their children. Here’s her actual backstory:

Luna is around 5 years old and weighs approximately 60 pounds. She was rescued from a difficult situation where she spent most of her life confined to a crate. She had never experienced freedom, love, attention, or play. She didn’t know manners, how to behave around others, or what small children were.

Luna was later adopted through a rescue, but her adoptive family wasn’t fully prepared or educated about welcoming a rescue pet. She was thrust into many new experiences too quickly, which made it hard for her to thrive. Adding to her challenges were an untreated ear infection and vision loss. While Luna is not completely blind, she is sight-impaired—but that hasn’t slowed her down one bit! She still loves to play fetch.

Luna would do best with a family willing to give her time to adjust, along with freedom, playtime, naps, walks, and stability. We wouldn’t say she couldn’t be around children—just that children need to respect her boundaries and allow her to settle in at her own pace.

Luna lights up the moment she knows you’re near, and we would love nothing more than for her to light up your home when you walk through the door.

If you’re interested in Luna—or any of our amazing animals at CCHS—please fill out an adoption application online or in person.
