What is your name? Luna<br/><br/>How old are you? The vet thinks I’m 2-4 years old but what’s an age really?!<br/><br/>How much do you weigh? 70lbs, my foster mom thinks I should lose a few lbs and Im working on it!<br/><br/>What do you look like? I look a bit like a hippopotamus. I’m grey with a white patch on my chest and a small heart shaped white spot on by neck.<br/><br/>What do you like to eat? I like all treats but am limited because I’m on a diet ? my main food is Kirkland weight loss.<br/><br/>What kind of personality do you have? Super lovable. I warm up pretty quickly and want to be by your side. Especially if you will rub my tummy. I love tummy rubs more than treats.<br/><br/>Describe your perfect day: Wake up, run in a couple quick circles, get my belly rubbed, eat breakfast, go potty, more belly rubs, nap, more belly rubs, did I mention belly rubs?<br/>I also like to chew on toys and snuggle.<br/><br/>What is your favorite toy? Any and all toys with a squeak or stuffing. I like to see how long it takes to get the squeaker and stuffing out. My foster mom keeps trying to find ones that I can’t chew up. She’s never going to find one, I am very determined. I also like chewing on my bacon flavored bone that she got me.<br/><br/>Do you know any tricks? Sure do! I can roll on my back, sit, lay down and play fetch. My mom is teaching me “talk” too. I like to talk when we are playing or if I want your attention. I’m starting to understand the command very well.<br/>I also know “pillow” which is my command to go to my dog bed. You can also tell me “crate” and I will go happily in my crate. They might not exactly be “tricks” but that sure is a lot of good commands right?<br/><br/>What scares you? I’m very brave but I do get nervous around cars and when I go for car rides. My foster mom is trying to get me more use to it. I also am not a fan of the hose or vacuum, I will avoid them, no thanks!<br/><br/>Have you been around children? Do you like them? I haven’t been around children yet. I think I will like them but I’m a short big dog and would need to be watched around small kids to be sure I don’t get excited and maybe knock them over.<br/><br/>Have you been around cats before? What’s a cat?<br/><br/>How do you feel about other dogs? With proper introductions I would get along just fine.<br/><br/>If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be? Right next to my family, getting lots of love.<br/><br/>How is your health? I’m doing great now. I had a benign mass removed from my bottom. I feel so much better since it came off and am so grateful I got the care I needed.<br/>I also have a cherry eye but it doesn’t bother me at all.<br/><br/>Who do you live with your foster home and who is your closest companion? I live with my foster mom. It is just her and I. She has friends that come over a lot and I get excited to have someone new around who can rub my belly. Guess I am not very shy.<br/><br/>Where do you hang out when you are home alone? In my crate!<br/><br/>Where do you sleep? I sleep in my crate. At about 9 pm I tend to go into my crate on my own to go to sleep.<br/><br/>Do you like walking on a leash? Yes. I prefer a walk on the leash rather than go for a car ride.<br/><br/>Do you have any "not-so-great" habits that we should know about? For instance, do you bark or dig in the yard? Not really, I prefer to be around my family so sometimes when I go in my crate I may whine for a few minutes, but I usually I settle in quickly. I am vocal when excited so it can be a little surprising until you get used to me and realize it is all friendly talk.<br/><br/>Are you house trained? (Meaning do you go potty outside) I sure am!<br/><br/>Do you like water? I will tolerate a bath because I know I get lots of love when I’m all clean. But I am not a big fan other than that.<br/><br/>What do you love about your foster family? I love all the attention I get!<br/><br/>What was your life like before being brought into NorCal Bully Breed Rescue? I was picked up and taken to UC Davis. They thought I may have been hit by a car, my foster mom thinks that might be why I’m nervous around cars. After having the benign mass removed from my toosh, I am feeling so much better and I am ready to find my forever family.<br/><br/>NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread all throughout the Sacramento area. We usually require our adopters to be within a 50 to 100 mile radius of us, depending on the dog, and depending on the home. This is because we need to do a yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. We are, however, willing to adopt out of our area, including the Bay Area, Tahoe, and even further. We've even adopted out of state on very special occasions. We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and range from $200-$350. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary). <br/><br/>Luna's adoption donation is $200.<br/><br/>Interested in meeting Luna or any of our available pooches?
