Luna 2025's Story

Luna a a very sweet girl who hasn't had the best luck - we believe she was once a beloved pet, but she has been living as a stray for several years. While Luna is very weary of people, with time and patience, she is starting to warm up to her foster humans & seeking affection, now that she knows she is safe. Luna absolutely loves other dogs, she is a spunky playful girl who loves to run and swim and wrestle - she is a master jumper and while she isn't great at the retrieving or fetching of things, she is an incredibly athletic girl! Because she has lived as a stray for so long, there are a few accomodations that she will require to help her live her best life - Luna will need patient humans who understand she needs time to warm up to you - leashes are still very "scary" to her, so she will require a fenced in yard and she will need at least one fur sibling to bond with - there will be no exceptions. Luna is not crate trained but is a perfect house dog now that she has settled back into domesticated life - she loves a cozy spot to cuddle up to and sleeps through the night without issue - she is house broken, spayed and up to date on all of her vaccinations - Luna is a pretty perfect pup and ready to find her forever home! OUR ADOPTION PROCESS: Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, fecal/deworming, negative heartworm, vaccines and prevention up to date. Ohio residents only. STS is a foster based, volunteer run, rescue. As such, we do not have a physical location or hours for you meet any foster dog and it does take time to answer each inquiry. All dogs are in homes and once an application is approved and a home visit is complete you are able to schedule meet and greets with available dogs. We encourage interested individuals to get approved prior to searching as it helps expedite the process. A petfinder inquiry is not a substitute for an application. We complete vet and reference verification. 3. Once approved, we schedule a home visit and meet and greet. WHAT WE REQUIRE: To ensure the safety and health of your new family member, we require that pets currently in the home be altered, up-to-date on vaccinations, on appropriate heartworm and flea prevention, and that all pets be kept indoors. We will require physical fences for specific dogs that we feel will be necessary to ensure their safety.
