Luna's Story

Meet Luna – The Three-Legged Wonder Pup!

At just under 2 years old, Luna has already shown what true resilience (and ridiculous cuteness) looks like.

This English Pointer mix may be missing a front leg, but don’t tell her that—she zooms around like she’s got four and keeps everyone on their toes!

Luna had a rough start in life, found tied up with a broken leg that sadly had to be amputated. But since her rescue, she’s been living her best life—full of love, play, and plenty of goofball energy. She’s besties with her foster sister Chelsea, following her everywhere and learning how to be the perfect pup!

She’s totally housebroken, crate-trained (just while you're out), and a pro at cuddles on the couch. Luna loves her humans, gets along great with other dogs and kids, and while she hasn’t met a cat yet, she’s open to negotiations. Just watch out for the occasional slipper theft—she’s got a mischievous streak and a big heart.

Earlier this year, a fundraiser helped get Luna a custom brace and a prosthetic for added mobility. She’s still warming up to her new gear, but with time and the right person, she’ll be unstoppable.

Luna is pure joy, wrapped in a wiggly, three-legged package. She’s the perfect mix of silly and sweet, and she’s ready to bring laughter and love to her forever home.

Safe With Us Animal Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Thank you for taking the time to consider adopting one of our dogs! Our process for adopting one of our dogs starts with filling out our adoption application. Please take time doing this because it gives us a better understanding of who you are and what type of dog may fit your family. Once your adoption application is completed, our adoption coordinator will reach out to you. Please understand that we are an all-volunteer rescue, so it may take up to 72 hours for you to receive a response. We will get back to you, we promise! Once you hear from our adoption coordinator, you can expect to schedule a home visit. This is a mandatory part of our process, but only takes about a half hour of your time. During this time, we will discuss ways to welcome your new family member into your home and review improvements that may help make the transition an easy one. Please note that completing the application and home visit process, does not mean that you are obligated to adopt with us. It just means that you are working through the process to be approved for a new family member. If we do not have a furry friend that interests you right now, don’t worry! Unless there are changes with your family and/or home, this process will not have to be repeated. ***Please note, at this time our dogs may only be adopted by Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut residents.
