Lulu's Story

Lulu came into our local shelter as a stray. We’re a little lost on her age since we’ve had a few people certain she’s a 6 year old dog that they know of. Both vets who have seen her believe she’s 2! Either way she still has a whole lot of life left in her and we can’t wait to find her forever.

She came in with horribly long nails and was a bit of a chunk. Thanks to her foster mom, and her learning the treadmill, she’s already lost half a pound! Those nails are long gone and the fact she had no problem getting them done actually makes it more sad. Keeping up on exercising Lulu, so she can maintain a healthy weight, and grooming is important.

Lulu’s humans are her world and if she had it her way she would be glued to you. Her foster mom has started on her training and she’s a little rockstar. Shes great in her crate and likes having it as her safe space. She’s a very lovey baby and a great little dog.

Being that typical little dog, she does have a few behaviours that her humans will need to be able to work with. She can be a vocal girl at times and likes to make her wants and nots known. She does get along with other dogs but shows some resource guarding of high value items and her humans. If she had things her way, she would likely prefer to be the only dog in the home or with another dog/cat that won’t hog her people and can work with a little dog with guarding issues. Lulu did have a few accidents at first but she’s doing great now! She may end up needing a little help being on top of pottying, at the start, in a new home. Lulu would prefer someone who is home often so she can have all the snuggles a pup could ask for. Someone with little dog experience would also be a plus!

Apply??
www.saltyanimalrescue.com/adopt
