Lulu Mixed Breed Madison, WI

Meet Lulu! Lulu is around 1-2 years old and weighs 45lbs. Prior to her arrival into rescue, she was sadly hit by a car after she gave birth to some puppies and has been slowly healing. She did need to have a front leg amputated, so she's a tri-pawd pup now.

Lulu has beautiful Merle markings. She’s a very loyal dog and wants nothing more than to be with her human as much as possible. She's very sweet and docile. She is jealous of other dogs in the house trying to get the human's attention so would be best as an Only dog in the home.

Lulu is house trained and crate trained.

She does like to scale fences if her foster mom leaves her sight outside, even with three legs. She's not trying to run off on any adventures, just trying to find where foster mom went off to!

Update 5/17/21 Lulu unfortunately tested positive for heartworm disease. They got this by being bitten by an infected mosquito. Heartworm Disease is not directly contagious to other dogs (but all dogs should be on heartworm prevention monthly, year-round to prevent infection/reinfection). Underdog has started her on treatment for heartworm, and with proper after-care, they will fully recover. Their adopter will simply need to bring them to the scheduled treatment appointments and keep them CALM (with strict crate rest or supervised relaxation) during and after treatment injections (for 3 months total). We provide adopters with instructions and will cover needed medication. We are seeking applicants who live in the greater Madison area, since crucial treatment and care (multiple visits over 2 months) are completed at our vet clinic, located in Madison. Dogs who are treated for heartworm have a positive likelihood of recovery when post-treatment instructions and rest are followed.

Dogs from Underdog Pet Rescue come with the following medical care already provided:
Spay/Neuter
Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella Vaccinations (as age appropriate-puppy adopters may need to cover some vaccine boosters)
Heartworm Test (for dogs over 6mo)
Microchip
Deworming
Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative
Any other necessary medical treatment as recommended by veterinarian

Our adult dog adoption fee is $300. Our puppy (under 5 mo) is $375. Our senior dog (over 8 yrs) is $250.
