Luke (MY26-20)'s Story
Meet Luke - A Loyal Companion Ready to Love Again

Luke is a 7-year-old Heeler mix with a gentle heart and the kind of loyal nature that makes him impossible not to love. This sweet boy came to Dogsville after the heartbreaking loss of his owner, and while his world has changed, he's still holding onto hope for a new beginning.

Luke is friendly, housebroken, and loves going for leash walks, happily trotting alongside his people while taking in the world around him. He has a calm, loving presence and seems happiest simply being near those he trusts.

There's something incredibly special about Luke. He's the kind of dog who has already known what it means to be part of a family, and he's ready to share that same devotion again with someone willing to open their heart to him.

Luke requires a home as the only dog. He would love having his people all to himself and being the center of their attention. A home without small animals is also required to help set Luke up for success and allow him to feel comfortable in his new environment.

Luke would thrive with older children who can appreciate his gentle nature and enjoy spending time with him.

After all he's been through, Luke deserves every good thing life has to offer-a soft place to land, gentle companionship, and a family who will love him as deeply as he will love them in return.

A required in-person meet and greet at our shelter is part of the adoption process to help ensure a good fit for Luke and his potential adopters.
------
Many NMDR dogs have had limited prior socialization and may need time, patience, and support as they adjust to home life. Skills such as house training, leash walking, and handling may require continued practice. Progress will vary by individual dog. Homes with older children are often a good fit, depending on temperament. To learn more about NMDR and our adoption process, please visit our website.
