LUKE's Story

Luke — Brave, Curious Boy Learning What Home Means Meet Luke, the black-and-white brother who is just a little braver when it comes to stepping into new situations. Like his brother Bo, Luke spent most of his life living outdoors and is still learning about leashes, indoor living, and all the things that come with being part of a family. Luke is the more outgoing of the two — curious, observant, and often the first to investigate something new. While he came to us a bit fearful, he’s already showing how much potential he has when given time, patience, and gentle encouragement. Luke responds beautifully to calm voices, positive reinforcement, and people who are willing to let him learn at his own pace. Luke enjoys: • Gentle cuddles once he feels safe • Sweet talk and praise • Quiet companionship • Exploring new things with someone he trusts Because Luke is still building confidence, he will do best with a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. Continued positive reinforcement training will help strengthen his bond with his new family while providing the mental enrichment he needs. As a cattle dog mix, Luke will also need adequate physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep his mind busy and help him thrive. Luke’s Ideal Home: • A calm, patient household willing to help him continue building confidence • A secure 6-foot fence or a family committed to supervising outdoor time • Respectful children who understand not to startle him • One or two playful but respectful dog companions could be a great match • A “safe zone” in the home where he can relax if things get overwhelming Luke is still getting used to new environments, sounds, and objects, but every day he’s showing that he’s ready to learn what life as a loved family dog looks like. With the right guidance, patience, and love, Luke is going to blossom into an incredibly loyal and devoted companion. ??
