Luke's Story
Luke is an approximately 1-year-old, recently neutered male who weighs about 75 pounds. He is a very big strong boy who loves absolutely everyone he meets. He loves to chew on bones and squeaky balls, and the occasional ball of yarn. Luke is incredibly playful and loves to snuggle. He is always happy to go on a walk or take a nap on a cozy bed.

Luke is comfortable around cats and will respect boundaries once established. He loves to play with other dogs and will run around for hours at the park. He is a medium/high energy dog, preferring nice long walks and lots of playtime, but able to settle when needed. He is pretty high on the velcro scale, following his people from room to room regardless of what they’re doing. He does not have separation anxiety, however. Luke had a couple of marking incidents when he first arrived at his foster home but has not had any since being neutered. He loves all people he meets and can be a little much for smaller children or even smaller adults. Because of his size, strength, and enthusiasm, he’s not recommended for families with children under 12. So far he has not figured out how to play fetch, he finds sniffing everything at the park more exciting. He is a quick learner though!

Luke is a wonderful boy looking for a forever family that can give him the time and exercise he needs. He is very strong so pulls very hard on walks, but with the right tools and continued training, he will quickly turn into a great walking or jogging buddy. He’s been a great city dog, not barking at or scared of cars, but he could do well out in the country with a fenced yard as well.

To apply to adopt Luke, please go to charliesarmy.com/canine
