Ludo's Story

"Meet Ludo (also known as Luey and occasionally Ludifer).

Once upon a time, Ludo was feral, pancaked to the floor in fear, and convinced humans were a deeply suspicious concept. That chapter? Closed. This is his glow-up era. Ludo is now a certified love sponge who lives for belly rubs, attention, and being as physically close to his people as possible. He is the most loyal shadow you will ever meet — laying at your feet everywhere you go, ensuring you accidentally step on him multiple times an hour just so he can confirm you still care. He desperately wants to be loved by humans and dogs and has fully learned how wonderful affection is. He’s a people-pleaser, a dog-pleaser, and just generally thrilled to be included in anything at all. Strangers can still earn a cautious side-eye at first, but the progress he’s made is remarkable — and once you’re in, you’re in. Potty accidents? None in over a month. We’re calling it: potty trained.
Belly rubs? His love language.
Food? He can eat his body weight and then ask what’s for dessert. Feeding time is his Super Bowl.

Ludo loves playing with other dogs and doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body. He’ll also happily play fetch with himself for an hour if no one is available — self-sufficient king behavior.

His only quirks: he occasionally decides the kennel is an unforgivable injustice and will howl accordingly (other nights he sleeps like an angel), and car rides over an hour make his tummy protest. Worth noting. Still perfect.

From terrified pancake to affectionate, loyal, goofy companion, Ludo has become the dog who just wants to belong — and once he does, he’ll never leave your side."

Ludo is in foster in Longmont, Colorado.

*We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. *

You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/ludo.

You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.
