Lucy Mae's Story

Meet Lucy!
Lucy is a delightful 2-year-old, small/medium sized (less than 30 lbs, but doesn’t look it and she will let you pick her up) blonde wire-haired terrier with a heart of gold and a playful spirit. While still very much a puppy at heart, Lucy is already a quick learner with great house manners. She’s crate-trained, house-trained, and eagerly picks up commands like “sit” with ease. She is a dream in the car and a fetch pro!

Lucy is a loving companion who thrives on attention, especially when it comes to ear scratches and belly rubs!

Lucy is a social butterfly and gets along wonderfully with dogs of her size or larger, making her an ideal playmate for furry friends. She enjoys exploring her yard, sniffing around, and doesn't mind getting her paws a little dirty in the process. She’s learning to curb her digging, and so far, she listens very well when it's time to stop.

Lucy isn’t food-aggressive, though she does tend to eat quickly, so we break her meals into two parts to help her enjoy her food at a steady pace.

Her sweet nature extends to cats as well—she’s cat-friendly and gentle with them. While she may bark and occasionally use her front paws to express herself, Lucy is being taught to be calm and quiet, and she’s making great progress.

Her curiosity sometimes leads her to explore with her mouth, so she would do best in a home with older children who can help her with this behavior.

If you're looking for a playful, affectionate, and well-mannered companion, Lucy is ready to fill your life with love and joy. She would be happiest in a home with another dog or two to keep her company, and she’s eager to continue learning and growing with her new family.

Lucy has been spayed and vaccinated and had a negative heartworm test. She’s current on Nexgard+ for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Her adoption is free, but a meet and greet is required at the potential adopters home.
We really would like to see her in the perfect home for her since she’s already been moved around a bit.
