Lucy's Story
Lucy is fourteen, fabulous, feisty, and fur-every home ready!

Check out her profile and submit an adoption application for this sensational senior: https://www.fawnssmalldogrescue.org/adoptable-dogs/lucy

Lucy is a 6 lb Chihuahua. She is spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccines and monthly preventatives.

Lady Lucy was her companion dog her entire life. She lived with her people and a large dog. Lucy's momma was her primary person, she was well socialized and went everywhere with her. She was such a momma's girl that she only attached herself to dad when mom passed away. After dad passed, Lucy was cared for by friends.

Miss Lucy recently had a much needed dental appointment. Due to her person's health she had missed a dental appointment in July 2023. Unfortunately this led to a reoccurring infection that resulted in an abscess. This was very painful and made her rightfully defensive of her face. Her defensiveness and pain led to her showing her displeasure by attempting slow and dramatic "gator-like chomps" towards those who tried to pet or pick her up. It earned her the nickname Spicy Baby. With the help of antibiotics and her dental appointment, Lucy is much happier.

Lucy has started to enjoy zoomies again, they tend to be short because she has luxating patellas. They are a joy to watch. She likes to go on little walks and will let you know when she is ready to be carried home like a princess. She has started to cuddle and snuggle foster mom and foster dad is even allowed to pet her, sometimes. One time, she even asked a guest for pets and cuddles.

Lucy's adoption ready! She prefers ladies though she is happy to live with a couple. Due to her size and age, a home with no kids is desired. She has met children and is fine if they visit if they are respectful and give her space. She has separation anxiety, so no shared walls. She ignores cats, she is dog friendly and is even okay with large dogs. No yard required.
