Lucy's Story

Here's Lucy!

Lucy just joined the Serendipity pack, along with her puppies, Lewis and Clark. They were surrendered to a rural animal control by a breeder. This sable-coated beauty has spent most of her life focused on raising puppies, and she has been an attentive, devoted mom who has taken her responsibilities very seriously. But now better days are ahead for this five-year-old girl.

Lucy is wonderfully friendly with people and has a calm, easygoing personality. She's affectionate without being demanding, and we know she will appreciate simply being part of a family. On the shepherd energy scale, we're told that Lucy is on the low end, which makes her an ideal companion for nearly anyone! At a sturdy 89 pounds, she'd likely do better with older dog-savvy kids.

Right now, Lucy isn't interested in making canine friends. After dedicating all of her time and energy to raising puppies, she's made it clear she'd prefer some space from other dogs. We can't really blame her—every mom deserves a little peace and quiet. We expect her personality may continue to blossom as she settles into her new life, but for now, we're respecting her wishes.

Lucy has spent her life taking care of everyone else. Now it's her turn to be the one who's loved, spoiled, and cherished. She's ready for soft beds instead of kennel floors, quiet evenings instead of puppy chaos, and a family who will remind her every day that she deserves to be someone's baby, too. If you're looking for a loyal, beautiful shepherd with a gentle heart, Lucy is ready to retire from motherhood and begin the very best chapter of her life—with you.
