Lucy's Story

I spent a year in my home without my person. Someone came by once a day to feed me, but I was alone the rest of the day and night. My person was sick for a long time and didn’t make arrangements when he passed away. A good Samaritan reached out to Act2Pups and they agreed to take me in. I hadn’t been groomed in a year. Although I use potty pads they weren’t changed very much and I was a mess when I was finally rescued. As you can see I was a mop head and now I’m cleaned up. My skin needs some work and I’m getting a dental next week (week of November 10th). I’m a happy girl. I just love being cuddled. I’ll race around and stand on my back legs to be picked up. I’m fine with other small dogs and older children.

Act2Pups Pet Rescue's Adoption Policy

It is always best to make sure your pet(s) get along with the Act2Pups pet that you are interested in. This can be done at an adoption event, or an appointment can be arranged. We ask that all family members visit at the same time if possible. To start the adoption process a completed application is needed. (We currently do not have our application on line, but hope to soon). We will e-mail a copy of the application. Once the application is processed and approved a home visit is performed. This is done more to make sure any concerns pertinent to the dog you are interested in can be addressed. Most senior dogs don't require a large fenced yard. A trial adoption can begin with the home visit. Should the trial begin at the home visit, Act2Pups provides everything the dog requires. The trial usually lasts no more than a week. Any time during the trial the applicant can choose to adopt. All of our senior pups are in foster homes. Contact: act2pups@yahoo.com for additional information on any of our pups.
