Lucy's Story

Lucy is a young 6–7-month-old black and tan German Shepherd with a sweet, affectionate nature. Through no fault of her own, her next home will be her 4th home simply because her families didn’t have the time she deserved. Thankfully, her most recent family reached out to ensure Lucy would have the chance at the forever home she truly deserves.

Like any puppy her age, Lucy is still learning and will benefit from continued training, structure, and consistency. She’s eager to engage, enjoys playtime, and is at a great age to build good habits through positive reinforcement. With regular exercise, guidance, and patience, Lucy has all the potential to grow into a confident, well-mannered adult dog.

Lucy is friendly, loving, and playful, and she’s ready to settle into a home where she can bond, learn, and finally stay for good with a family truly committed to her.

Puppies are a life-long commitment. They need time, training, vet care and healthy feeding to become good canine citizens. Don't even think of adopting a puppy unless you intend to invest the time and money and commitment required, and you can expect to lose a few good shoes along the way!

Please visit http://www.coastalk9gsr.org/ to learn more about our dogs. Don't forget to fill out our online application: https://www.coastalk9gsr.org/applications.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.

Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.

Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers.
