Say hello to Lucy! She’s a 5-6 yr old Beagle mix looking for her furever family. If you’re looking for a laid back, easy going pup she’s your girl. Her previous owner showed her love by overfeeding her so she’s on a diet right now to get some of the extra weight off. She definitely doesn’t love the diet life and will use her adorable puppy eyes or her bag of tricks/skills to get you to break open some treats. Also, it’s impossible to not be happy when you come home after a long day at work because she’s the best welcoming committee. She’s always excited to see you and will gladly spend the evening laying next to you on the couch or at your feet. She gets along great with other dogs and cats and has bursts of energy when she goes outside to play with other dogs. She is spayed, up to date on shots and heartworm tested negative. Paws 4 the Cause is an all volunteer "no kill" rescue. We do not harm animals, but the more we can adopt out, the more we can take in. We take in the hardest cases, dogs and cats that are close to death or starvation. The adoption fee barely covers a fraction of what we spend. Our average animal costs about $200 for the first month in food and vet fees, and approx. $50 per month thereafter. All donations are used to pay directly for animal food and vet expenses. There are no employee or overhead expenses.
