LUCY's Story

Lucy is a four year old spayed and vaccinated female husky. If you're looking for a pup that is part adventure buddy and part snuggle-bug, Lucy is your gal! She has been polite with our shelter kitty, non reactive to other dogs, good with kids, and fairly gentle on the leash (she pulls a bit when she's leaving the facility doors, but is responsive to a gentle tug. Once she's outside she is content and stops pulling). She has been hiking up mountains, splashed in creeks, and has strolled through parks and has been a good, polite girl every step of the way. At the end of the day, she is happy to curl up at your feet as you work in your office, pick a dog bed to lounge in as you do chores, or just follow you around to stare lovingly at you. Lucy is a bit smaller than an average husky, weighing in at about 42 pounds.

As wonderful, sweet, and gentle as she is, Lucy is a clever, strong lady. She can be quite the escape artist with our chain link fences- i.e. digging under them and biting the wires to create a hole to weasel through. She doesn't typically go too far when she breaks out, just looks for another friend to hang out with, either four or two-legged. For this reason, a good fenced yard or property would be the best for her fur-ever home situation.

Lucy is happy to load up easily in anyone's car but has experienced a bit of motion sickness. We believe she may be allergic to chicken and grain- causing some GI issues. We have taken her off of the Hills Science Diet food that our shelter dogs typically eat and have put her on the Taste of the Wild Sierra Mountain Roasted Lamb recipe, which has cleared all issues she's had. It has even helped her carsickness!

If you are interested in this super cool dog, please contact our facility!
