Lucy Is a red headed<br/>tri Pembroke<br/>Corg<br/>i<br/>found<br/>as a stray in<br/>Fort Collin<br/>s.<br/>Lucy is 3-5 y/o,<br/>30<br/>lbs,<br/>and spayed, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-.<br/><br/>Lucy recently saw a local vet due to leaking urine. She ha<br/>d<br/>a severe urinary tract infection which<br/>was treated with<br/>antibiotics<br/>but she is still leaking very little urine. She is now on Proin and DES which helps her<br/>and she will likely need to be on this medication for the rest of her life.<br/><br/>Lucy is<br/>potty trained, leash trained, uses a dog door,<br/><br/>crate trained,<br/>and rides well in the car<br/>.<br/>Lucy has a dominant type of personality<br/>and likes to be in charge of other dogs.<br/><br/>She is easily excitable which can also be a trigger for her reactivity.<br/>She respects large dogs but may challenge smaller dogs or like minded dogs.<br/><br/>She does well with dogs that won’t challenge her. She has done well at on leash encounters with neutral dogs.<br/><br/>Lucy would<br/>benefit from<br/><br/>a basic manners class<br/>.<br/>She knows how to sit and stay for a short time.<br/>Lucy does not have a reliable recall and<br/>cannot<br/>be trusted off leash.<br/><br/>Lucy doesn’t like typical dog treats but she does like<br/>cooked<br/>chicken or beef as<br/>treats. She is fed separately from her foster siblings and slowly eats her kibble<br/>taking about 5-10min.<br/><br/>Lucy<br/>is shy a<br/>nd insecure<br/>with new things<br/>.<br/>It takes her<br/>awhile<br/>to interact<br/>so her new owner needs to give her time and be patient<br/>.<br/>Lucy<br/>approaches<br/>men quicker than<br/>women but is generally insecure when meeting others.<br/>She is a quick<br/>learner but will<br/>tend<br/><br/>to choose<br/>avoidance so needs to gain some confidence in social settings<br/>.<br/>Lucy<br/><br/>is good with cats and livestock. She does like to chase chickens but will stop when told.<br/><br/>Lucy will be very loyal to that special person or family. Lucy is very friendly<br/>and likes to cuddle<br/>. She would prefer a home with a mellower dog or no other dogs and would do well with<br/>an<br/>older person<br/>or<br/>family<br/>with o<br/>lder<br/>children. Lucy likes to be near her people and is a lap puppy so someone home during the day would be ideal. She prefers to sleep on<br/>a couch or on the foot of the bed.<br/>Lucy is a very sensitive<br/>gal and<br/>requires a gentle touch. Colorado Corgis and Friends's Adoption Policy
Besides the application, home and reference check and meet and greet, we require that all pets in the home be altered and utd on vaccinations unless a vet note and medical reason can be provided. We strongly recommend that current pets be heartworm tested and on preventative as well. We also require the dogs will not be left unsupervised outdoors for long periods of time, ride in the back of a truck or left inside vehicles unattended. We require that dogs never be left unsupervised with small children.
