Lucy's Story
Lucy is a Shepard mix (possibly mixed with Collie) that is approximately 10 years old. She is around 65lbs. She and her sister Scarlett were surrendered to us after their owners suddenly passed away. She and her sister, Scarlett, had their world turned upside down after that. She is an adorable, laid-back older girl who wants to cuddle and relax with you; she will follow you around for support. She will warm up to you instantly.

She knows basic commands, does not jump, and wants to be your best friend. We want her and Scarlett to be adopted together, but we understand that may not be possible. They are all that each other has. They have adjusted to a different life without their owners and are doing well with their foster. Lucy can be a little particular about her dog friends, but has gotten along without issue in 2 settings with multiple dogs of all sizes. Lucy does not really have an “in between”; either she likes a dog, or she doesn't. She is easy-going for the most part, however.

We do not know how she is with children, but we would guess she wouldn't have an issue, since she loves everyone she meets. Older kids around 9+ would probably be best, given their size. Cats are unknown and need a slow introduction; to our knowledge, they have never been around cats. She walks well on a leash. A secure, fenced yard is required so she can run and play. We were told she can be an “opportunist” if a gate is left open, she is going out of it. She does not run out the door or anything like that, but if left to her own devices, she may slip a collar or harness on a tie-out and decide to explore on her own

Lucy is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. Her adoption fee is $175. If Lucy and Scarlett are adopted together, it will be $300 for both.
