Lucy's Story

Meet Lucy, a spirited three year old Labrador Retriever/shepherd mix who packs a whole lot of love into her 43-pound frame. This social butterfly is the ultimate "people person" and has truly never met a stranger, greeting every new face with genuine warmth and enthusiasm. While she hasn’t lived with children in her current foster home, she has consistently shown a gentle nature and great manners during her public outings. Lucy is already an expert at being a house guest, as she is fully house and crate trained, ensuring a much smoother transition into her forever home.

Currently, Lucy lives harmoniously with a cat, whom she politely ignores, and she is making wonderful strides with the resident dogs. While it seems she didn’t have much socialization in her past, she is becoming more comfortable and confident with her canine housemates every single day. When she isn’t busy exploring the world one sniff at a time, Lucy’s absolute favorite place to be is curled up right next to her favorite human on the couch. If you are searching for a loyal, affectionate companion to fill your life with joy, Lucy is ready to start her next chapter with you!

If you are interested in adopting Lucy, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.

**Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **
