Lucky Dog's Story

Are you ready to get lucky? Lucky Dog is a young hound mix, probably around 1-2 years old. She was very timid when she first came into our rescue, but she has blossomed into a playful, affectionate, and fun dog! She loves everyone she meets. She’s very loving with all her human friends, and she would love to be someone’s Velcro dog.

Lucky would thrive in a home with another friendly dog. She currently lives with two other dogs, and they give her a lot of confidence. She would do best in a home with a fenced yard, as she is still gaining confidence on her walks. (It helps a lot when her foster siblings come along!) She hasn’t met any young children yet, but we think she would do fine in a home with dog-savvy kids. She also has not met cats, but she doesn’t seem too interested in them on neighborhood walks. We’d be happy to test!

Lucky has a medium energy level. Sometimes she gets the zoomies and enjoys running around the yard and playing with her toys. Sometimes she tries to persuade her boring middle aged foster siblings to chase her. However, in the house she’s calm and well behaved. She’s very smart and eager to please (and food motivated!) and has learned basic commands very quickly. Even though she’s sometimes fearful of new things, she loves people and is very docile and easy to handle, even at the vet. She’s a wonderful dog who is ready to find a family of her own.

Plenty of Pit Bulls's Adoption Policy
We love working with adopters to find the perfect match, and we offer lots of support, advice, and resources before, during, and after adoption. All our dogs live in foster homes where we get to know them well. We can tell you how they interact with other dogs, cats, kids, outings, leash walks, what their energy level is, and such much more. If you are looking for a particular kind of dog (e.g., one who is great with cats, or one who can do agility), let us know! Our goal is for every adoption to be a perfect match. We encourage you to ask lots of questions, meet as many dogs as you like, and and ask us for suggestions about dogs that might be right for you. Our fosters are an invaluable resource: they know their foster dogs well and will be happy to tell you about them. Application: Either before or after the first meeting, you should fill out our adoption application, available below. Please make sure to fill it out completely and accurately, including phone numbers for references. If you don’t know about your landlord’s pet policies, including weight and breed restrictions, please check before you apply.
